This movie features subtle references to the 1969 movie Easy Rider, a film about two young men who motorcycle from Southern California to New Orleans, meet a boozy lawyer who tags along, and encounter drugs, hippies, hookers and death.
The first cut of the film was over three hours long. It has finally been cut to two hours, 45 minutes. Johnny Depp is back as Captain Jack Sparrow in the third chapter of the swashbuckling Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.
He is hopelessly trapped in Davy Jones' Locker and this time Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swan (Keira Knightley) must align themselves with the nefarious Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) if they hold out any hope of saving their old friend from a fate worse than death.
As the terrifying ghost ship, The Flying Dutchman and Captain Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) cause chaos across the Seven Seas under the wicked guidance of the East India Trading Company, the heroic couple navigate treacherous waters and face bitter betrayal as they set sail for exotic Singapore with the intention of confronting crafty Chinese pirate Sao Feng.
With the entire future of the pirate way at stake, everyone will be forced to choose sides while drifting precariously to the edge of the Earth for one final, spectacular battle.
Some scenes were filmed during the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest so locations would not have to be revisited by the crew and filming started without a finished script. |

From the producers of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe comes a rousing fantasy adventure about family, friendship, and the wondrous power of imagination. Jess Aarons just never seems to fit in no matter how hard he tries.
When his goal to become the fastest runner in middle school is thwarted by newly arrived classmate Leslie Burke, who enters in an "all boys" race and leaves her competitors in the dust, Jess soon strikes up a friendship with the imaginative outsider.
Their bond is soon cemented thanks to Leslie's love for storytelling and Jess' skill as an artist, and the two kids create a secret kingdom called Terabithia that is only accessible by swinging over a stream on a nearby rope.
Their adventures in Terabithia find the pair doing battle against the dreaded Dark Master and his malevolent creatures while plotting revenge against the schoolyard bullies. Jess finally finds the confidence needed to stand tall and be himself. The role of Leslie was originally offered to Dakota Fanning. |
